Hi! I'm critiquing this one out of the bunch on of your forum because figure and traditional medium is where I have more experience.
Ok firstly, I'm rating this really high because the drawing from inside the keywhole is really stunning. I love the use of color and the contrast of black and the way the firgure seems to be pressing into the background, like it's almost engulfing her. Her neck line is beautiful, as is the pose and how the modeling (shading) was executed. It's a very free composition with a lot of effective line.
Crit wise- they keywhole is where the work falls apart. First, it's the beginning of blending traditional and digital, which is great! but the harsh and flat black takes away from the depth of the figure. The idea is brilliant, mind you. I'm in love with the keywhole idea. The second problem is the color of the keywhole or door, and it's shape. Normally a keywhole is shaped differently and is not an oval on a diagonal. Also the black ground takes away from the depth of the whole itself, making the figure look closer than the whole we're looking through. When we look through a keywhole our eyes expect to see wood work, or a gold plate around the whole, we expect the room beyong the keywhole to be far away, and perhaps fasded a bit by the tiny area we have to view.
Other than that, your drawing is very beautiful. I think this is the start of an idea that needs to be devloped more and more until it's brought completely to life. Also- keep figure drawing- you're very wonderful at it!
The colors and the shadow values work quite well. But the darker parts beneath her breasts and on her belly woukld need some rework, they're to different.
You'll have to improve your anatomy an proportions, but you're on a good way.
I was trying to go for a lighting at the top kinda thing, but I understand, I just don't know how I could possibly edit it at this point, I have no more materials to work with to improve it sadly
Yeah, this was my best peice in my beginning drawing class. For a beginning drawing class... we ended up with a nude model after the first two weeks. I really enjoyed this one too, I love the contrast too!
i can tell, it looks amazing ( not being perverted, god i hate having to make that distinction, sometimes i hate my gender screwing up things) the contrats is to me what makes it, along with capturing what she looked like
