First off I love the colors in this! They contrast really well against each other and are bright, cheery... What you'd expect to find in real life. I also think the angle of this shot is great and allows you to focus on the two flowers better than if they were side by side. Nice job with the rule of thirds too- it's nice not seeing the flowers directly in the center of the frame
I kind of find the flower in the bottom left corner distracting and unfortunately it's a little blurry! Maybe a little more narrow depth of field (DoF) would have added another level of interest too. There's a lot going on in the picture even if it's just two flowers because of all the lily pads, the water, etc.
Those things are pretty simple to "fix" though, depending on what you prefer to do. If you'd rather fix in-camera, I'd suggest increasing your shutter speed to reduce motion blur and get a sharper image. Or even a tripod to reduce camera shake in-hand! Then just focus the camera and snap away!
For the DoF, you can use a larger aperture in-camera or even use a depth of field filter in an editing program. Personally, I would keep the upper left flower in focus and gradually blur the photo out from there. Then you have one, immediate subject that draws your eye.
Nice work over all! This photo is screaming to be a painting
EVERYONE loves beach photos... and the beaches in your area seem soooo pretty. But it might come down to not being around it all the time. I don't have anything like this close to me, I was actually at a garden that is maintained by people who have enough money to upkeep ponds and such.
